MATT SCHOFIELD
Far As I Can See (2014)
Matt Schofield has impressed music critics and rock blues fans with his guitar skills ever since his 2004 debut album "The Trio, Live". Just one further demonstration that when European artists (especially English ones) dedicate themselves with passion to toughening the twelve bars with injections of vigorous rock, they become formidable competition for their US fellow artists.
During his career, the Briton Schofield (he was born in Manchester) has always known how to mix blues, wisely and with great class, not only with rock, but also with exciting touches of jazz, fusion and funk.
As proven again by the excellent album "Far As I Can See", released in 2014: eleven rousing and masterfully played tracks.
Schofield on vocals and guitar is joined by Jordan John (drums, percussion, vocals), Carl Stanbridge (bass), Jonny Henderson (organ and piano) and The Last Minute Horns (alto sax, tenor sax and trumpet).
