The Marcus King Band, a sixtet, prove their astonishing ability to blend energetic doses of funk and torrid blues rock with invigorating injections of soul and R&B. The highly expressive vocals and flaming hot guitars by Marcus King are accompanied by bass, drums, percussions, trumpet, trombone, saxophone and keyboards, in one of the most captivating and enthralling records of 2016.
The album’s special guests include Derek Trucks on the guitar (on the excellent track “Self-Hatred”) and Warren Haynes (on the track entitled “Virginia”), who is also the producer of the whole CD.
