Before passing away on May 27th 2017, Gregg Allman completed his discographic testament with the album “Southern Blood”, released a few months after his demise.
The CD once again confirms the North American artist’s delightful songwriting sensitivity (the opening track “My Only True Friend” is a real treat) and interpretative skills (his rendition of the Lowell George classic “Willin’” is no less than elegant).
The album is produced by Don Was.
The “deluxe” edition includes the interesting DVD “Back To The Swamp: The Making Of Southern Blood”, plus two extra tracks.
