LEFTOVER SALMON
Something Higher (2018)
Leftover Salmon, a leading group belonging to the “jam band” phenomenon with a propensity to produce sounds typical of the bluegrass music genre, releases one of its most captivating albums to date: twelve tracks composed by members of the band (except for “Southern Belle”, written by Jason Walter Yandle) in which the remarkable interpretative skills of the quintet from Colorado make “Something Higher” a precious jewel within the rock music sector.
The album (produced by Steve Berlin, a band member of Los Lobos) is a phantasmagorical explosion of instruments (guitars, vibraphone, violin, banjo, mandolin…) all played skilfully and with joyfulness.
