In September 2019, the album entitled “The Highwomen”, by the band of the same name, was released and was welcomed by all country music fans as the female version of the noble The Highwaymen quartet (made up of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Wylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson). In fact, for at least a couple of reasons, the similarity holds good: The Highwomen has four members (Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris and Amanda Shires) and country music reigns supreme in all 12 compositions on the CD.
