One of the more pleasing surprises that Italian music has gifted to fans of music of the most sophisticated and exquisite kind is ”Save Lives With The Rhythm”, the album from the Catania singer, guitarist, and songwriter Roberta Finocchiaro (recorded in New York for Tillie Records, under the supervision of Simona Virlinzi).
The record was produced by Finocchiaro herself alongside Steve Jordan, who appears on drums and percussion throughout the whole album. Also featuring are bassist Sean Hurley (who has worked with John Mayer and a whole host of famous artists), and keyboardist Clifford Carter (who has appeared alongside musicians of the calibre of Paul Simon, Rosanne Cash, and James Taylor, as well as many others).
It’s difficult not to be moved by the warm musical embrace of tracks such as “Future” (chosen as the first single), “Lemon”, or “Made For The Dreamers”.
