DAN PENN

Living On Mercy (2020)

Many are hoping that Dan Penn’s 2020 album, “Living On Mercy”, will find a wider audience.
Born in Vernon (Lamar County, Alabama) in 1941, as a young man Penn worked as a guitarist, composer, and producer in the famous FAME Studios, writing songs for the likes of Box Tops, Aretha Franklin, Percy Sledge, Ronnie Milsap, Janis Joplin, Alex Chilton, and Nick Lowe.
“Living On Mercy” features thirteen tracks, some written especially for the album by Dan Penn alongside long-time collaborators and friends, such as Spooner Oldham and Wayne Carson.
Dan Penn’s deep, intense voice transports the listener into a world of ultra-smooth, immersive soul.
