“Wreckless Abandon” is what’s called “album rock”. This is no-frills music that gets straight to the point without any messing around, with guitars to the fore and straightforward vocals.
The Dirty Knobs is the creation of Mike Campbell, who played guitar in The Heartbreakers, the longstanding band of the much-missed Tom Petty.
Accompanying Campbell on “Wreckless Abandon” are guitarist Jason Sinay, bassist Lance Morrison, and drummer Matt Lang. Also making guest appearances are pianist Benmont Tench (another member of The Heartbreakers) and Chris Stapleton (on vocals on “Pistol Packin’ Mama” and “Irish Girl”, and the writer, with Campbell, of “Fuck That Guy”).
