In 2020, singer Bettye LaVette (Bettye Jo Haskins’ stage name) released the elegant album ”Blackbirds” – a collection of nine tracks made famous by legendary artists such as Nina Simon, Etta James, The Beatles (LaVette’s version of ”Blackbird” is almost unrecognisable), and Billie Holiday.
“Blackbirds” is produced by Steve Jordan, who also features on drums throughout the album.
