THOM CHACON

Marigolds And Ghosts (2021)

Three years after “Blood In The USA”, Thom Chacon is back with his third album, “Marigolds And Ghosts”, released in March 2021.
The American singer-songwriter from Durango (Plata County, Colorado) confirms his gift for writing intimate and profound songs, presenting nine new quintessentially poetic tracks with his weathered voice, acoustic guitar harmonics and the sole company of a bass played by Tony Garnier (who has also worked with Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Paul Simon and others). Only on “Florence John” (one of the best tracks of the album) has he added Tyler Nuffer’s dobro guitar.
In “Marigolds And Ghosts” the writer’s artistic sensibilities range from “Angel Eyes” (a tribute to the actor Lee Van Cleef, one of Chacon’s favourites), to “Borderland” (answering Neil Young’s 2018 call for artists to highlight the plight of children at the US/Mexico border).
