BILLY F GIBBONS

Hardware (2021)

Member – in the second half of the 60s – of the psychedelic rock band The Coachmen (later The Moving Sidewalks), leadman of the beefy Texan trio ZZ Top and producer of a couple of successful solo albums (“Perfectamundo” in 2015 and “The Big Bad Blues” in 2018), June 2021 sees guitarist Billy F Gibbons publish his third solo album entitled “Hardware”.
Gibbons’ artistic vein has certainly not dried up at all. Quite the contrary, thanks to the rather pungent compositions of the Houston-born musician he has given his fans pleasant listening satisfaction, with 12 linear but varied rock tracks that are both gritty but enjoyable.
“Hardware” includes just one piece that was not written by Gibbons: “Hey Baby, Que Paso”, in fact, comes from the repertoire of the Texas Tornados. Moreover, the track “Stackin’ Bones” features the Larkin Poe duo made up of the sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell.
