BOZ SCAGGS
Out Of The Blues (2018)
Following the excellent albums “Memphis” (2013) and “Fool To Care” (2015), both of which are rockpartyshow “recommendedalbums”, Boz Scaggs has now released “Out Of The Blues”. The superb interpretative class of the performer originally from Canton, Ohio (USA) also emerges in all its splendour on this album.
In addition to his passion for both Rhythm&Blues and for soul, which developed throughout the recording of the two previous albums, in “Out Of The Blues” he also expresses his flair for the blues. Even the performance Scaggs gives of “On The Beach” by Neil Young (originally present on the album bearing the same name released in 1974 by the Canadian singer-songwriter) strips the piece of its original rawness and coats it in corroborating blues, altering its original format.
Boz Scaggs collaborated with some excellent musicians in “Out Of The Blues”: ranging from guitarists Doyle Bramhall II, Ray Parker Jr. and Charlie Sexton to the drummer Jim Keltner, from the bass player Willie Weeks to the multi-instrumentalist (as well as being one of Scaggs’ friends and the author of four tracks on the album) Jack “Applejack” Walroth and the keyboard player Jim Cox.
