Gov't Mule's discography lacked a substantial tribute to blues music. The gap was admirably filled in 2021 by "Heavy Load Blues", a thrilling gallop into the territories of blues invigorated by injections of rock.
The "deluxe" edition offers additional eight tracks. Among these extra compositions, it’s worth listening the extended version of "Feel Like Breaking Somebody's Home", present in the regular edition of "Heavy Load Blues", and the two live recordings of "Need Your Love So Bad" (by Little Willie John) and "Good Morning Little School Girl" (by John Lee "Sonny Boy" Williamson).
