THE DELINES

The Sea Drift (2022)

The artistic collaboration of two of the most sophisticated stars on today's US music scene, former Richmond Fontaine guitarist and highly praised writer (critically acclaimed films have been based on several of his novels such as The Motel Life and the film with the same name directed by the brothers Alan and Gabe Polsky) Willy Vlautin and the singer (former member, along with her sister Deborah, of the band The Damnations TX) Amy Boone, continues.
The elegant album "The Sea Drift" is a clever mix of country, blues and jazz played exquisitely by some outstanding musicians; besides Vlautin (lyricist and on guitar) and Boone (vocals), there is Cory Gray on keyboards and trumpet (the two instrumental tracks "Lynette's Lament" and the final "The Gulf Drift Lament" on "The Sea Drift" are his compositions), Sean Oldham (also former member of Richmond Fontaine) on drums and percussions and Freddy Trujillo (from a young age member of numerous bands including Pat Smear, Federale, I Love You and who released a solo album in 2002 called "Hawks And Highways") on bass guitar.
Other musicians join them on sax and strings as well as the guitarist John Morgan Askew who was also involved in the production, engineering and mixing of the album.
