MICHELLE MALONE

"1997" (2022)

Shining light of American roots music for over 30 years, Michelle Malone has built a solid and award-winning career as an insightful singer-songwriter and skilled guitarist.
At the age of 4 Malone started singing in church, at 10 she learnt how to play the guitar, drums and saxophone and at 12 she formed her first band and began to write songs.
Her debut album "New Experience", released in 1988 (recorded for the independent label Aluminum Jane), was then followed by "Relentless" (1990), released by the major Arista Records. Her defiance of the rules and restrictions laid down by the large record companies prompted her to found her own label: SBS Records (acronym for Strange Bird Songs) was born in 1992 and with the label she has released some fifteen albums including one in 2022 called "1977".
The ten tracks of "1977" (all written by Malone) are inspired by the music of the 1970s, above all that of Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, Jackson Browne and Linda Ronstadt.
The result is an album produced with care, played with passion and dispenser of pleasing emotions.
