EDDIE 9V

Capricorn (2023)

After his debut album "Left My Soul In Memphis" (2019) and, especially, the album "Little Black Flies" (2021), which with its blues infiltrated with captivating doses of soul and rhythm&blues, had music lovers on the edge of their seats, Eddie 9V (where "V" stands for "Volt") released "Capricorn" in January 2023. This album is dominated by lively components of soul and rhythm&blues, without arrogance, and showcases the never-forgotten love of the artist for blues music.
The album consists of eleven tracks composed by Brooks Mason (Eddie 9V's real name) and his brother Lane Kelly (who is also responsible for bass, production, and engineering of the album), with the exception of "Bout To Make Me Leave Home" by Randle Edward and "Down Along The Cove", which is borrowed from Bob Dylan's 1967 album "John Wesley Harding".
The title "Capricorn" refers to the famous American recording studio Capricorn Sound Studios in Macon, Georgia, which was primarily used by artists like Wet Willie, The Allman Brothers Band, The Marshall Tucker Band, and The Charlie Daniels Band in the 1970s. It is also where Eddie 9V created his recent and intoxicating musical effort.
