ANA POPOVIC

Power (2023)

Born in Belgrade on May 13, 1976, guitarist Ana Popovic grew up listening to excellent music thanks to her father, Milutin, a guitarist and bassist, as well as a collector of soul music records.
Between her first band, Hush, founded in 1995 and her recent album "Power" (officially released on May 5, 2023), one can find about ten excellent albums, countless and torrential live performances, collaborations with prestigious names in the blues music scene (including Junior Wells, Keb' Mo', Kenny Wayne Shepherd), numerous awards and recognitions.
"Power" is a concentrate of blues strengthened by invigorating injections of rock, confirming the remarkable guitar skills of the title holder and her outstanding compositional abilities: apart from the initial "Rise Up!" (written by Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Tia Sillers and Mark Selby), the remaining 10 tracks of "Power" are composed by Popovic together with her friend Buthel Burns, bassist and co-producer (together with the guitarist) of the album.
