JENNY LEWIS

Joy'All (2023)

After co-founding the band Rilo Kiley in 1998 with Dave Rock, Pierre De Reeder, and Blake Sennett, American musician (born on January 8, 1976, in Las Vegas) Jennifer Diane Lewis, known by her stage name Jenny Lewis, embarked on a solo career in 2004. Two years later, she released her debut album "Rabbit Fur Coat" under the moniker Jenny Lewis With The Watson Twins.
Following three albums ("Acid Tongue" in 2008, "The Voyager" in 2014, and "On The Line" in 2019), Lewis found in Dave Cobb the best producer to achieve a leap in quality that allowed her to embrace a wider audience of fans and receive acclaim from the specialised American music critics.
Within the ten tracks of "Joy’All" (all composed by Lewis herself), her vocals, acoustic guitar, piano, and mellotron, led by the artist herself, are accompanied by, among others, the aforementioned Cobb on acoustic guitar and percussion, and the excellent Greg Leisz on pedal steel guitar.
In its slightly over thirty-minute total duration, "Joy’All" exudes brightness and carefreeness, managing to offer a refreshing blend of straightforward rock and elevated pop.
