After converting to Islam and adopting the name Yusuf Islam in 1977, London-based singer-songwriter born of a Greek Cypriot father and a Swedish mother, Steven Demetre Georgiou has resumed the stage name of Cat Stevens under which he recorded in the late 1960s and early 1970s gentle and polite record works.
The name Yusuf/Cat Stevens appears on the cover of "King Of A Land", a fresh folk-rock record capable of providing gentle thrills especially for lovers of "old" Cat Stevens and generally for admirers of the refined stave.
