She has written songs made famous by Trisha Yearwood and Brooks&Dunn, among others, and debuted with a solo record (bearing her first and last name as its title) in 1995. Singer and songwriter Kim Richey gradually moved away from the world of country music (albeit declined with contemporary parameters) to embrace sounds closer to art rock music, as well demonstrated by her excellent 2024 album "Every New Beginning".
