TOMMY CASTRO
Tommy Castro Presents A Bluesman Came To Town A Blues Odyssey (2021)
Born in San Josè on 15th April 1955, from the very beginning of his recording career Californian guitarist and singer Tommy Castro (whose first album was “No Foolin’” from 1994, attributed to the Tommy Castro Band) has gained huge success with his special brand of Blues reinforced with vigorous doses of rock.
His resolute guitar style also characterises the recording efforts of 2021 with the tongue twisting title of “Tommy Castro Presents A Bluesman Came To Town A Blues Odyssey”.
With its 13 tracks, the album tells the tale of a young boy who, busy working on the family farm, suddenly finds himself fascinated by the Blues. He learns to play the guitar and sets off on a journey searching for fame and fortune to then discover that the treasure he so craves is exactly what he left behind.
“Tommy Castro Presents A Bluesman Came To Town A Blues Odyssey” was produced by expert Thomas Jay “Tom” Hambridge (former collaborator with Susan Tedeschi, Buddy Guy, George Thorogood And The Destroyers, Quinn Sullivan, Johnny Winter and dozens and dozens of other artists), who was also drummer and co-author of numerous tracks on the album.
