Delbert McClinton: il nuovo album

Venerdì 13 maggio è la data di pubblicazione del nuovo lavoro discografico di Delbert McClinton intitolato Outdated Emotion.
Oltre a canzoni scritte dallo stesso McClinton, l'album contiene appassionate rivisitazioni di brani composti da artisti (tra cui Ray Charles, Hank Williams e Jimmy Reed) a cui il musicista statunitense di Lubbock (Texas) è particolarmente affezionato.
McClinton ha così descritto Outdated Emotion: "I've always wanted to do an album of the songs that influenced me the most. It's important music from another time. There is a whole generation, maybe two generations now, who don't know this music. My whole idea here was to show them how it was and how we got here. Hank Williams, Jimmy Reed, Lloyd Price, Ray Charles. These songs take me to my youth. They are good if not better now than they were then, and they were great then. They are songs people should just get to hear".

Outdated Emotion è prodotto da Delbert McClinton insieme a Kevin McKendree e vede schierata una rodata band di supporto composta dai chitarristi Chris Scruggs (Loretta Lynn, Kacey Musgraves) e Jimmy Stewart (Rascal Flatts, Dolly Parton), dal bassista Mark Winchester (Emmylou Harris’ Nash Ramblers), dal violinista Stuart Duncan (Alan Jackson, George Strait), dall’armonicista Danny Flowers (Eric Clapton), dal sassofonista Jim Hoke (Paul McCartney) e dalle coriste Wendy Moten e Vicki Hampton.
